Shawn Spears, Lance Archer, and the House of Glory wrestling promotion in New York City have all applied for new trademarks.
On January 23, Shawn Spears applied to trademark “The Reaper.” The trademark is intended for professional wrestling events.
"Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network"
Currently, Spears calls himself “The Chairman” in AEW after striking Cody Rhodes over the head with a steel chair in the summer of 2019 at AEW Fyter Fest.
Also on January 23, New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Lance Archer applied to trademark his own name. Much like the above trademark from Shawn Spears, the trademark is intended for professional wrestling appearances and exhibitions.
On January 20, the House of Glory promotion applied to trademark its own logo with the intention of running professional wrestling events.
"Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services in the nature of a wrestling club; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer."
