Another bout added to WWE Crown Jewel.
On Thursday, WWE announced that Shinsuke Nakamura will defend his United States Title against Rusev on the kick-off show of WWE Crown Jewel.
Both men participated in qualifying matches for the World Cup, but came up short in their efforts. Rusev was defeated in short order by the Miz thanks to a distraction by Aiden English. Meanwhile, Rey Mysterio, in his return bout to the company, defeated Nakamura to qualify. Both matches took place at SmackDown 1000.
Nakamura defended his US Title against R-Truth on the most recent episode of SmackDown Live. The week prior, Rusev got revenge on English for costing him a spot in the World Cup by forcing him to submit.
The two foes recently battled on the Sept. 18 episode of SmackDown with Nakamura picking up the victory.
The WWE Crown Jewel kick-off show begins at 11 p.m. ET on the WWE Network. Fightful will provide live coverage of the event.
