After being cut from the WWE roster just a few years ago, Drew McIntyre will now challenge for the NXT Championship.
Drew McIntyre became the number one contender to the NXT title during Friday Night's NXT Tapings. The Scottish star defeated Sanity's Killian Dane for the honor.
Bobby Roode successfully defended his NXT title against Roderick Strong on the same show, so he and McIntyre are set for a collision course this summer. Roode has defeated McIntyre twice on NXT live events, and won a couple of triple threat matches over him in TNA.
