A familiar face has earned a shot at the AEW World Championship.
On AEW Rampage: Grand Slam taping, several of the company's stars competed in the Grand Slam Golden Ticket Battle Royale, where the winner would earn a shot at the world title on the October 18 episode of AEW Dynamite.
The bout featured a few noteworthy returns, especially that of Brian Cage. He competed in the match, and in doing so, he wrestled on AEW TV for the first time since October 2021. He was in action at ROH Supercard of Honor and Death Before Dishonor, but he has been absent from AEW.
Lance Archer also competed in the contest; he previously had a lengthy run in Japan as part of the NJPW G1 Climax 32. Dalton Castle was another noteworthy participant.
In the end, Hangman Page won the match by last eliminating RUSH.
