Sumie Sakai speaks highly of Yuka Sakazaki.
Sakai and Sakazaki faced each other at NJPW Battle in the Valley on January 11. Sakai teamed up with EVIL and SHO, and they lost to Sakazaki, Hiromu Takahashi, Mayu Iwatani in Sumie's retirement match.
Sumie Sakai then took to Twitter/X to thank Tony Khan for letting Sakazaki compete at the show. She stated that Sakazaki is her favorite wrestle, and AEW is lucky to have her. Sakai stated that AEW is lucky to have Sakazaki, and she said that more people would watch AEW if Yuka was on TV.

Sakazaki had not competed for AEW since AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam 2024, where she lost to AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May. She then wrestled at the ROH on HonorClub taping on October 8.
There is currently no word on when Yuka Sakazaki will return to AEW programming.
