Tay Melo's opponents have been announced.
Tay Melo previously announced that she would make her in-ring return at the STARDOM event on January 3. She did not name her opponent for the show.
STARDOM has now announced that Melo and Mina Shirakawa will face ROH Women's World Champion Athena and Thekla at STARDOM New Year Dream 2025 on January 3. The match will mark Athena's STARDOM debut.

Melo has not wrestled since March 2023. She and Sammy Guevara announced her pregnancy at AEW Double or Nothing 2023, and she welcomed their baby girl in November 2023.
Tay previously said in August that she was training for her in-ring return, and she has trained with former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega ahead of his own in-ring return.
Athena will compete at the STARDOM event before she wrestles at NJPW x AEW Wrestle Dynasty on January 5. There, she will face Willow Nightingale, Persephone, and Momo Watanabe.
