Three Championship Matches Made Official For 6/27 NXT Gold Rush

Three huge matches have been announced for the June 27 episode of NXT.

Earlier this evening, Shawn Michaels announced that NXT Gold Rush, a two week TV special, would take place on June 20 and 27. While the night one will see Seth Rollins defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker, night two will see NXT's Men and Women's Champion but their titles on the line.

First, Tiffany Stratton will face Thea Hail for the NXT Women's Championship. The Chase U student earned the opportunity to challenge Stratton by winning a number one contender's Battle Royal on June 6. This week, however, Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey expressed their concern for Hail as they believe she still needs a lot more training.

Additionally, Carmelo Hayes will defend his NXT Title against Baron Corbin. The former Mr. Money in the Bank earned his spot in the match by defeating Ilja Dragunov in tonight's main event. He was able to hit End of Days after Bron Breakker interferred and distracted Dragunov, likely as payback for trying to attack him earlier in the night.

Finally, Gallus (Wolfgang and Mark Coffey) will defend their Tag Titles against either Edris Enofe & Malik Blade, Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs, or Hank Walker & Tank Ledger. As per Booker T's announcement, those three teams will battle next week at Gold Rush night one for the opportunity to challenge Gallus.

Earlier today, it was learned that WWE filed to trademark NXT Gold Rush. Click here to learn more.
