Thunder Rosa has been sidelined for a year, last wrestling on the August 15, 2022 (taped on August 10) AEW Dark: Elevation tapings. Rosa was the reigning AEW Women's Champion when she vacated the title on the August 24 episode of AEW Dynamite due to a back injury.

In the latest update on her vlog, Rosa and AEW doctor Michael "Doc" Sampson said that Rosa would work a five-minute mini-match on August 12 and if things went well, she would be cleared soon.

"Good news. She's been doing well, we're at week four. She's been religious with her training, as she always has been, but religious with her training, doing everything we've asked her to do. Next week, if I can share, we're going to be in Greensboro, and we're going to do a five-minute mini-match and see how you tolerate that. We're just taking the steps up. If that looks good, we're almost there," said Sampson.

"You're telling me I'm almost cleared, cleared?" asked Rosa.

"You're almost there. You're following protocols, you're doing everything as expected. Your body is actually listening to you. Still there, but you're getting stronger around it and taking the stress off of it," replied Sampson.

When Rosa asked if "three more weeks?" Sampson replied, "I think that's fair."

Rosa thanked Sampson for having her back throughout the recovery and rehab process.

While sidelined, Rosa has been providing commentary in Spanish for AEW. She is part of the AEW Collision promotional package.
