Thunder Rosa is excited about her looming return to the ring.
The former AEW Women's World Champion has been sidelined with a back injury since August 2022. At the time, AEW crowned an interim champion, but as Rosa's absence continued, she eventually relinquished the AEW Women's World Champion. Rosa returned to AEW TV when she made a brief appearance on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, and she has been advertised for AEW Collision. She has provided updates throughout her time away from the ring. Most recently, in Rosa's latest vlog, AEW doctor Michael Sampson discussed her condition and noted that six weeks is a good goal point.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Rosa shared her thoughts following her latest update. She made it clear that she is getting ready for her in-ring return, and she encouraged everyone to stay tuned.
“It’s great news. I get to get in the ring. For those who are questioning if I’ve just been taking a big break because I like to do stuff, no, I am getting ready, and I’m excited. Just stay tuned. There’s a lot more stuff, I gotta be on my vlog, in terms of that. So that’s your answer, if you want to go on my vlog and listen and see, I have graphics and everything explaining the injury, you can see it. When he said the pathology’s still there, that means I still have the injury, I just don’t have any pain. So I’m living, and thousands and millions of people probably in the United States live with back pain and back problems, and I’m one of them," Rosa said.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Rosa will return to the ring. Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
