Tommaso Ciampa Is The Last Man Standing, Retains NXT World Title Against Johnny Gargano

Johnny Gargano's rage consumed him again, allowing Tommaso Ciampa to outsmart his former tag partner to remain NXT champion.

Ciampa outlasted Gargano in a brutal last man standing match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4, rolling off the stage and onto his feet before the count of 10. Meanwhile, Gargano remained down and out after crashing into production equipment knee first.

Here's a look at the final moments from our live coverage:

Johnny sends Ciampa into the LED board on the stage before Johnny locks in the Gargano Escape and handcuffs Ciampa to a grate on the stage and smashes his head into it repeatedly before superkicking him. Johnny superkicks Ciampa repeatedly before hitting a running knee attack that sends Johnny off of the stage.

Ciampa then manages to fall off of the stage landing on his feet, Gargano being unable to stand and answer the ten count, Ciampa retaining his NXT Championship in the process.

The match was a brutal affair, as you would expect given the rivalry between the two men.

In the end, Ciampa exited the same way he entered.
