Tony Khan still can't comment on CM Punk.
On September 2, AEW announced that they had terminated the contracts of CM Punk.
Punk reportedly got into a physical altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In. After an investigation, it was said that Punk endangered innocent people backstage at AEW and Tony Khan said that he felt his life was threatened. After consulting with outside legal counsel and a disciplinary committee, Khan made the decision to release Punk.
Appearing on Superstar Crossover, Tony Khan was asked about CM Punk.
"Well, I can't really comment on that. I appreciate you asking but I'm very excited about the things we are doing. Like I said, we've been on probably the best run of AEW pay-per-views we've ever had and the TV shows have been really strong. We've had a lot of great matches both on TV and pay-per-view, and it feels like this week, it's all really coming together," he said.
Khan then ran down the card for AEW Dynamite Grand Slam.
Punk did return to screens at CFFC MMA to do commentary. He said during the event that he has time on his hands for two months.
