Kazuchika Okada has made his football allegiance clear to Tony Khan.
Along with running AEW, Khan is the co-owner of the Fulham football team. Fulham is back in the Premier League after being promoted for the 2022–23 season. In November they will square off against Manchester City, who won the Premier League in 2021-22 and has won the league in four out of the last six seasons.
Fans now know which team Okada will be rooting for.
"For fun, he must have told me 17 times that he's a Manchester City fan. [laughs]. I get it, Okada, you like Manchester City. He's great. I really liked hanging out with him and I know I'll be talking to him when Fulham plays Man City, which is a tough game, that's the toughest game in the business. He'll be letting me know what he thinks about that one. I hope Fulham can get a good result there. I always want Fulham to get a good result but now, I'd love to have some bragging rights wth Okada, especially against, arguably the best football club in the world," Khan said during the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door media call.
Okada made his AEW TV debut on Wednesday's Dynamite, saving Hangman Page from an attack by Adam Cole and Jay White. Khan said he was happy to have Okada in the mix and was hoping to have him sooner.
Okada will challenge for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship in a four-way bout against White, Cold, and Page at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
