Tony Khan: People Are Going To Be Scissoring At School On Thursday

Scissoring is cool, kids.

The Acclaimed, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, declared October 5 National Scissoring Day. Of course, everybody loves The Acclaimed and because of them, everyone loves scissoring now, too.

Caster and Bowens won the Tag Team Championship on Wednesday, September 21 at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, and at that moment, the whole world was scissoring. Even DJ Whoo Kid, who was a guest at Grand Slam, was in awe of the fact that he was able to scissor with tens of thousands of people simultaneously. He wasn't even sure that was legal.

Now, in a new interview with Variety, AEW General Manager Tony Khan is singing the virtues of scissoring, saying that after the National Scissoring Day celebration, everyone will be scissoring. Grown men at work will be scissoring each other, and even children at school, everyone will feel compelled to scissor one another because scissoring is a great way to greet someone.

“They found ways to connect with the audience, but also to have great matches, and you have to be able to do both to be a truly top wrestler,” he said. “Scissoring is something that really connects to the fans. So I think all this week and especially around Wednesday, and maybe the continuing into Thursday at school the next day, there’s going to be people scissoring at school, at work, and in the audience at AEW, and there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s a great way to greet somebody.”
