Trick Williams is determined to get his title back.
Ethan Page previously won the NXT Championship in a four-way match at NXT Heatwave. Trick Williams, the reigning champion heading into the match, was not pinned, and he has been chasing the title ever since. Williams will challenge Page for the NXT Championship on the October 1st episode of NXT.
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Trick Williams said that Page stole the title, and he had conned his way up to this point.
“He stole the title, man. He conned his way into WWE, he conned his way into the title picture, he conned the title out from me, now he about to con his way into CW. Now, when we stop this? Enough is enough," Williams said.
Later in the interview, Williams was asked to comment on how far ahead he thought about his goals, and he noted that he was just focused on what's next. He stated that he had to get the title back, and he vowed to save the brand.
“I’m focused on what’s next. I gotta get my title back off Ethan. This is in what’s best interest for the company. I need to save the brand at this point because Ethan does not know what he’s doing. He needs help, and I’m gonna help him. So I’m gonna whoop that trick. That’s all I need to focus on right now," Williams said.
