Trick Williams recalls advice given to him by John Cena.
John Cena came down to the WWE Performance Center and appeared on the October 10, 2023 episode of NXT. Cena was part of a backstage segment with Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes on the show. On TV, Cena discussed the importance of doing his own thing.
Speaking to Cameron Hawkins of The Undisputed, Trick recalled advice he got from Cena off-screen.
“We've had multiple talks, but I would say the most important thing I've learned from him is being able to listen and perform at the same time. He knows what every sound means, what every sound means that he should be, how he should respond and react to everything. … But just being able to listen and react accordingly to what the people are giving you, I think, is the most [important] thing that I've ever heard," he said.
Trick is the reigning NXT Champion. He will defend his title at NXT Halloween Havoc.
Trick will learn his NXT Halloween Havoc opponent on Tuesday's NXT as Ethan Page, Wes Lee, and Je'Von Evans clash in a triple threat match.
