Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes faced off one last time ahead of NXT Stand & Deliver.
Former friends and tag team partners Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams will main-event NXT Stand & Deliver as their heated rivalry will come to a head at the premium live event. On the April 2 episode of WWE NXT, Hayes and Williams had their final face-off ahead of their match. They looked back on their history together, and Williams noted that they would make history as the first two Black men to main-event a WrestleMania weekend premium live event.
They went on to share their sides of the story, with Hayes claiming that Williams tried to take his NXT Championship, which he compared to his girlfriend. He said that Williams went behind his back, and Trick countered by saying that he talked to Hayes man-to-man about chasing the title. Williams ended his message by saying that he was done taking a backseat, he was the man in NXT, and he would be the one to knock Hayes off the hill. They then brawled, and tensions had clearly reached a boiling point as NXT came to a close.
"Is that what brothers do, Trick?"
