The issues between Trick Williams and Ilja Dragunov will reach a boiling point at NXT Heatwave.
NXT Heatwave will take place on August 22 as a special televised episode of WWE NXT on the USA Network. The return of NXT Heatwave was announced by Trick Williams during a promo confrontation with Ilja Dragunov on Tuesday, August 8.
Dragunov challenged Willams to fight him on the spot, but Trick Willie offered a match at Heatwave instead in order to show the world that he can truly hang with the best. Dragunov agreed but left the promise that Williams' career would die after their match.

Dragunov blames Williams for his loss to Carmelo Hayes at NXT Great American Bash. Williams, on the other hand, is ready to separate himself for the time being from Carmelo and show that he can be his own man and is not a sidekick.
The last time Dragunov and Williams were in a physical confrontation, Ilja knocked out Williams, and Carmelo had to make the save on the July 25 episode of WWE NXT.
