Triple H says the right situation would need to arise to work with New Japan.
Over the last two weeks, WWE has mentioned the newly crowned IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega a few times online. They have also mentioned the new IWGP Tag Team Champions the Young Bucks because those three New Japan Pro Wrestling roster members were in a Street Fighter V Team Battle against the New Day at the E3 convention.
TheSun.co.uk asked WWE Executive Triple H about any possible cross-overs with New Japan talent in a wrestling ring. Triple H said he and WWE are very receptive to ideas if the right factors are at play.
"We are open to doing things with anybody or anything," said Triple H. "Is there opportunity for cross-promotional events? Absolutely, with the right things. It’s a blank slate and I’m open to just about anything if the right situation shows itself," he later added.
Triple H cited WWE's work with ICW and Progress Wrestling in the United Kingdom and said WWE likes working with those companies because of their business practices.
The New Day beat Omega and the Young Bucks in the Street Fighter V Team Battle but Omega would then beat Xavier Woods in a much more competitive-style first to five match up. At the end of the event, Woods said he hopes the two teams can meet in wrestling some day.
