Tyler Breeze Reveals How Flatbacks Helped Xia Li Get On NXT Television

Xia Li signed with WWE in 2017 to compete in the inaugural Mae Young Classic.

After losing in the first round, Xia, who had limited wrestling experience when she signed, was mainly used in enhancement matches on NXT television.

After missing the final two months of NXT TV in 2020, Xia returned with a new persona to begin 2021 as she was led by Tian Sha.

Speaking on his Twitch stream, Tyler Breeze revealed how he helped Xia get on TV on a more regular basis.

"Xia Li is a very good success story that we've had," said Breeze when discussing wrestlers he and Shawn Spears helped train at Flatbacks. "She's been part of NXT for three or four years and kinda went, 'look, what am I doing? Why am I not on TV and being used?' She came to me and asked (to be trained) and we were like, 'Cool, this is what we need to do.' She did the entire eight-week course, I wrestled a match with her and taped it, showed it to Triple H, and two or three weeks later, she's getting booked to what she's doing now and doing vignettes. Xia is fantastic. She's definitely one of ours."

Breeze also named Cezar Bononi, Renee Michelle, Colten Gunn, and others who have found success after training at Flatbacks.

Elsewhere during the stream, Breeze said promotions have reached out to him following his WWE release, but he's going to let things breathe for right now. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
