Undertaker Jokes He Added Mabel (Viscera) To Ministry Of Darkness To Avoid Wrestling Him Any More

Undertaker talks about The Ministry of Darkness.

The Ministry of Darkness was a 1999 faction in WWE. Headed by Undertaker, the group also featured Bradshaw, Faarooq, Mideon, Viscera, Edge, and more.

While discussing the group during a Patreon Q&A for his Six Feet Under podcast, 'Taker joked he added Mabel, the future Viscera, to the group to avoid wrestling him again.

"I put Mabel in there so I made sure I didn't have to work with him. That's when Mabel became Viscera. Ron and John became The Acolytes," he recalled.

There was no plan to add Kane, Undertaker's storyline brother, to the group, however.

"I don't ever remember Kane coming up in that. It's funny, I don't remember where we were at in our story at that point. I think Kane was actually in a pretty good run, his singles run about that time, too. So I don't think I don't think he was ever really considered."

Mabel worked with Undertaker in the final quarter of 1995, breaking Undertaker's orbital bone during a WWE live event. On-screen, the injury was attributed to an attack by Mabel on the October 9, 1995 episode of WWE Raw.

The injury forced 'Taker to wear a protective mask from the 1995 WWE Survivor Series until his match with Bret Hart for the WWE Title at the 1996 WWE Royal Rumble.
