The Undertaker: Stephanie McMahon's Steady And Calm Hand Is Exactly What WWE Needs

On June 17, WWE announced that Vince McMahon would be voluntarily stepping back as WWE CEO with Stephanie McMahon named as the Interim CEO.

The announcement came after the Wall Street Journal published a report saying the WWE board of directors is investigating Vince McMahon on a secret $3 million hush pact regarding an alleged affair.

The Undertaker, who has been part of WWE for over 30 years, spoke to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about Stephanie's new role.

“Stephanie is incredible, and she’s going to show that in this new role. She is level-headed, she sees the whole picture. Her steady, calm hand is exactly what is needed. There’s not a selfish bone in her body, but she’s all about business. She’s the right person for the job. I have 100% confidence about what Stephanie McMahon will do for the company," he said.

Though he has stepped down from his position as CEO, McMahon remains involved in the WWE creative process and has made multiple appearances on Raw and SmackDown since June 17.

Undertaker retired following WrestleMania 36 and his Boneyard Match against AJ Styles. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022 and is set for a one-man show during WWE SummerSlam weekend.
