After WWE released Zelina Vega, Vince McMahon declined to meet with her a final time.
Hours before the November 13 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE released Zelina Vega. This came on the heels of Vega opening an OnlyFans account for her cosplay photos and choosing to remain active on Twitch.
A report in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated that following her release, Vega asked to speak with Vince McMahon and was told by Mark Carrano that Vince McMahon did not want to speak with her. Fightful was able to confirm this report and there is more information on our premium service, Fightful Select.
Overall, Zelina Vega’s attitude following her release has been largely optimistic, stating on Twitch that she wished no ill will towards the company just hours after her release.
“To them, too, for letting some 4-foot-nothing Puerto Rican girl from Queens on that kind of a stage to work with her heroes. It's an incredible blessing, one that I'm always going to be thankful for. I have nothing bad to say, I know some of you might have come for that, but I have nothing bad to say. Just thank you.”
In the time since her release, she has spoken with SAG-AFTRA regarding unionization and stated that she is confident in who she is and has realized her worth. Read her most recent comments from Twitch at this link.
