Vince McMahon Stacks The Deck Against Kofi Kingston; Kofi Doesn't Secure WWE Title Match At WrestleMania

Kofi Mania has come to an abrupt end.

The main event of tonight's SmackDown Live from Indianapolis, Indiana featured Kofi Kingston attempting to go the distance in a gauntlet match to earn a WWE Championship match against Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35. Kofi would defeat Sheamus and Cesaro. Kingston was able to get past Rowan when Rowan got himself disqualified by putting a chair to the back of Kingston. Kofi continued to ride his wave of momentum when he defeated the United States Champion Samoa Joe and the last competitor of the gauntlet match that Kofi had to take on was Randy Orton and Kofi was able to best the former 13-time WWE World Champion as well.

As Big E and Xavier Woods ran down to the ring to celebrate with their New Day brethren, Vince McMahon made his way out to the stage and alerted Kofi that he had to defeat the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan if he wants to secure his WWE Title match with Bryan at WrestleMania. After an hour of wrestling, Kofi was not able to keep pace with the fresh Daniel Bryan and it was a running knee strike from Bryan that put a halt to the movement known as Kofi Mania.
