Will Ospreay comments on his Cage Match with Kyle Fletcher and feeling like a true pro wrestler that night in California at AEW Revolution.
Will Ospreay put a button on his rivalry with Kyle Fletcher for the time being when they faced off in a violent and bloody Steel Cage Match at AEW Revolution.
Speaking about the match during a recent appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Ospreay would remark that competing inside the former Staples Center that night made him feel like a true wrestler and put over the quality of the match, remarking that the very next night there was another Steel Cage Match and the participants couldn't top what he and Fletcher had done.
I can't think of another Cage Match off the top of my head that had done the stunts, the storytelling, the drama as well as that. I mean, people tried to top it the next day, and they couldn't. I just could not believe the output and the support that we got afterward, and just how people just thought it was one of the greatest Steel Cage Matches ever. I was super out of my depth with that one. I won't lie to you guys at all. It was crazy to be a part of that, and I felt like a proper pro wrestler out there. I know it's the Crypto.com Arena now, but that's the Staple Center, man. I felt like a pro wrestler out there. Kyle Fletcher even elevated himself to new heights. It was a crazy match to be a part of."
While he doesn't reference them by name, CM Punk and Seth Rollins competed inside of a cage the next night on WWE Raw from Madison Square Garden. That match added another wrinkle to their storyline with Roman Reigns, which will take them to the main event of WrestleMania 41 on Saturday, April 19.
