On Friday, July 9, WWE announced that Bayley had suffered an injury while training and would be out for approximately nine months.
Bayley was scheduled to face Bianca Belair in an I Quit Match at WWE Money in the Bank on Sunday, July 18. Now, a replacement is to be named on tonight's episode of SmackDown.
Many in the wrestling world, especially WWE reached out with well-wishes for Bayley, who was a major focal point of WWE throughout the entirety of the global COVID pandemic.

Regarding what caused the injury, Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp reported but the injury occurred during mandatory training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and is said to be seen as a "freak accident."
We're told the Bayley injury happened during the mandatory "return to road" training session at the WWE Performance Center while doing chain wrestling with another Superstar. It was referred to as a freak accident.
