On the December 27 episode of WWE Speed, Natalya was set to face Zelina Vega in the quarterfinals of the WWE Speed Women's Number One Contender's Tournament. However, Natalya instead faced B-Fab. On commentary, Corey Graves noted that B-Fab replaced Vega due to an injury that Zelina sustained. Natalya went on to win the match.
Further details regarding Vega's injury were not provided.

Zelina Vega last wrestled at the WWE Raw taping on December 9. There, she competed in a first-round match in the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship Tournament. She lost in a three-way match that included Lyra Valkyria and Ivy Nile.
As of this writing, there is no word on when Vega will return to the ring. Fightful will provide more information as it becomes available.
