Saturday Night’s Main Event began in the mid-1980s and lasted until 1992. The event would then be brought back in 2006 and would remain on NBC periodically for the next couple of years. The last WWE Saturday Night's Main Event took place on Saturday, August 2, 2008, and saw Edge defeat Jeff Hardy in a featured match.
