WWE Releases Samoa Joe, Billie Kay, Mickie James, Chelsea Green, More

On the one-year anniversary of a major release session, WWE is making more roster cuts.

The following names have been released by WWE:

Toni Storm To Compete At AEW Dynamite On 34th Street

- Billie Kay: Signed with WWE in 2015. Competed at WrestleMania 37. Former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.

- Mickie James: Returned to WWE in 2016. Compete at WWE Royal Rumble, hadn't been a regular on television since September 2020. Former five-time WWE Women's Champion.

- Chelsea Green: Signed with WWE in 2018. Made SmackDown debut in November 2020, but suffered an injury in the bout.

- Tucker: Signed with WWE in 2013. Competed in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on WrestleMania SmackDown. Had not been a regular on television since splitting from Otis in October 2020.

- Kalisto: Signed with WWE in 2013. Competed in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal on WrestleMania SmackDown. Made sporadic appearances on television in the fall of 2020. Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion, United States Champion, and NXT Tag Team Champion.

- Wesley Blake: Signed with WWE in 2013. Had not wrestled since Money in the Bank 2020. Was aligned with King Corbin on SmackDown before Steve Cutler was released in February. Former NXT Tag Team Champion.

- Samoa Joe: Signed with WWE in 2015. Suffered a concussion in February 2020 and had not wrestled since. Was part of the WWE Raw commentary team until Monday, April 12. Former NXT Champion and WWE United States Champion.

- Bo Dallas: Signed with WWE in 2008. Had not wrestled since November 2019. Former NXT Champion, WWE Raw Tag Team Champion, 24/7 Champion.

- Peyton Royce: Signed with WWE in 2015. Had not wrestled since March 2021 when she lost to Asuka. Former WWE Women's Tag Team Champion.

- Mojo Rawley: Signed with WWE in 2012. Had not wrestled since June 2020 on WWE SmackDown. Former seven-time WWE 24/7 Champion.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp was told John Laurinaitis has been making the calls to talent and citing budget cuts as the reason for the WWE releases.
