Cody Rhodes went through a war but put Kevin Owens in his rearview mirror and reclaimed the coveted Winged Eagle WWE Championship belt in a Ladder Match at the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble event.
What was already a violent brawl came to a screeching halt for a moment as Kevin Owens delivered an Avalanche Fisherman Buster through a ladder. Sami Zayn came rushing down to check on his friends, Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes, who were both checked out by medical personnel.
Kevin Owens was able to stand back up and attempted to put Cody through the announce desk with a Package Piledriver, but Cody turned the tables and delivered in Alabama Slam through a ladder, leaving Kevin bloodied and folded up on the ringside mat as he climbed up and retrieved both the traditional WWE Championship belt and the Winged Eagle WWE Championship belt.
