Sean Waltman feels the reason Shawn Michaels and Triple H work so well with NXT is that they are able to separate the past from the present and build toward the future.
D-Generation X was such a pivotal force in WWE transitioning to the Attitude Era. Now, DX is helping run NXT and once again helping WWE once again move forward to the future. With Shawn Michaels and Triple H running the ship and Road Dogg helping as a producer, the spirit of DX is strong within NXT.
On the 6/7 edition of The Bump, fellow D-Generation X member, Sean “X-Pac” Waltman gives his insight as to why DX’s founding fathers are a good fit to foster the future of WWE. To X-Pac, it comes down to them being able to separate back then from now.
“I'll just make it real short and sweet. They're open-minded. They're not caught up in, 'oh, this stuff nowadays! Back in my day, it was all better,'” Waltman began. “I mean, they take the young talent. Like, all these guys and women that are coming into NXT, a lot of them have previous experience and they've done great in building themselves up before they got there, but Shawn, Hunter, and a lot of the people that are mentoring them there, they take what those guys have and then they sprinkle in some of the wisdom that we have to offer and it's just an amazing recipe.”
