The longtime vet has renewed his contract.
The 50-year old former two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yuji Nagata shared with the world on social media that he has renewed his deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Nagata has spent a total of 25 years with New Japan. He started in 1992 as a young lion and was with the company until 1997 when he ventured off to WCW for one year and then he returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling in 1998 and has been wresting for the company since then.

Nagata was a part of the 2018 World Tag League tournament in-which he teamed with Manabu Nakanishi who he once held the IWGP Tag Titles with. Nagata is also set to compete on the Wrestle Kingdom 13 pre-show on January 4th in the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Titles number one contenders match alongside David Finlay and ROH World Television Champion Jeff Cobb. Nagata is replacing Michael Elgin who is dealing with a knee injury.
