Zack Sabre Jr.'s goal is in sight.
At the NJPW G1 Climax 34 event on August 12, Zack Sabre Jr. defeated former world champion SANADA With the win, he secured his place atop A Block and advanced to the semifinals.
In his post-match comments, Zack Sabre Jr. discussed his victory.
"Nagaoka, I promise the next time you see me, not only will I be the G1 Climax 34 winner, I’m gonna be the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion. SANADA, I think I’ve ever hid my admiration for SANADA’s skill, technique, or his personality. I have respect and admiration for every aspect of SANADA, but as a SANADA fan, SANADA, what are you doing? I was already top of the block. I fought that match like I had everything riding on it. I was already top of the block. That’s what separates me from everyone else. That’s what separates me from everyone else. Not in this tournament, not in this company. In this industry. I fight like it matters every time. SANADA, don’t you want to be at the top again? We’re in the same generation. These musket pricks, seven dwarves and the five musketeers, their time will come one day because everyone’s potential is very high. But SANADA, it’s down to us. They’re the next generation. We’re the current generation. My generational rival. SANADA, I’m gonna be IWGP World Heavyweight Champion very, very soon. Don’t you want this match to have the highest-ever stakes? The skill that you have, no one in Japan could have matches like me and SANADA. SANADA, you need to stop fucking around, mates and wake up because no one can stop me. The G1 Climax is coming home, and even though that song is about English football, it works on both ways. I live in Tokyo, so when I win the trophy, it’s coming back home to Tokyo. I’m going to be at RevPro August 24th, and when I win the G1 Climax, that trophy is coming to England, and we’re gonna celebrate, baby. But I’ve gotta win. Gotta win the bloody tournament first. Two down. Who am I gonna be in the semifinals with? Who do I want? Takeshita can still make it, can he?" Sabre Jr. said.
