Jeff Jarrett is coming back to TNA.
One of the original founders of the promotion along with his father, Jerry Jarrett, Jeff Jarrett and Anthem Media reached an agreement that will bring him and his wife, Karen Jarrett, back to the company starting with the TV tapings in Orlando that will be held this week.
PWInsider first reported on the return of Jarrett, who has not appeared for TNA since the summer of 2015, as part of an invasion storyline between TNA and Jarrett's Global Force Wrestling promotion.
PWInsider also reported that Dutch Mantell would be returning to TNA, in a behind-the-scenes capacity assisting with creative. Jarrett also is expected to have a creative role upon returning.
Fightful.com broke the news yesterday that Jarrett could be returning to TNA, in the wake of Carter's resignation as chairman now that Anthem is the majority owner of the company. Carter remains a minority owner of TNA, and will continue to serve on the advisory board.
Talks between Jarrett and Anthem had been ongoing for more than a month.
After resigning from his executive role in TNA in late 2013, Jarrett started GFW, which has been in talks with A. Smith & Co. Productions, the same TV production company that produces "American Ninja Warrior". Jarrett was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2014, part of a deal between he and Carter that involved Jarrett selling his remaining shares of ownership in TNA to her.
Jarrett won the NWA World Title six times, back when TNA was affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance. He has taken sporadic independent dates as of late, and also is a former four-time WCW World Champion.
