Cyborg Releases A Video Of Her Confronting UFC President Dana White

Former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Cyborg defeated Felicia Spencer by unanimous decision in the co-main event of UFC 240.

That bout served as the final one for Cyborg and the UFC, potentially ending a contentious relationship between fighter and promotion. The issues with Cyborg and the UFC began during her days in Strikeforce and they haven’t gotten much better since.

Cyborg and UFC President Dana White met backstage after UFC 240 and the fighter posted a video of the confrontation on Youtube:

White has stated before UFC 240 that Cyborg may be afraid to lose to two division UFC champion Amanda Nunes again, which Cyborg disputed during the confrontation.

“You know I text you for the rematch. You know this. Stop lying about it,” Cyborg said in the video (via Damon Martin of MMA Fighting). “What you are saying that I don’t want to fight. You know that I want to fight and I’m not scared.”

In a response to what Cyborg stated to him, one thing White said is there may have been communication issues with her management team.

“I’m not lying about it,” White said. “I don’t know if you know how it played out with management and whatever but we want to do that fight. I want to do that fight right now. We’ll get it done.”

The UFC President also stated that he would offer a one fight contract to Cyborg so she can have the rematch with Nunes, but nothing has been signed at this time.

MMA Fighting also reports that the UFC and Cyborg have an exclusive three month negotiation period before the fighter can talk deals with other promotions.
