Derrick Lewis Wants To Fight Greg Hardy

Derrick Lewis is currently preparing to fight fellow top ten heavyweight Francis Ngannou this July at UFC 226.

After that fight is complete, another person Lewis wouldn’t mind battling in the Octagon is former NFL star Greg Hardy.

“He’s a wife beater. I’d like to get in there with him. I like knocking these wife beaters out,” Lewis said to TMZ. “Yeah, I’ll fight Greg Hardy. It’d be like vice versa of him beating all the women; I’ll be beating him like he’s a woman.”

Hardy had been arrested in both 2014 and 2016 for domestic abuse and drug possession.

Lewis grew up watching his parents fight everyday, which is a huge factor into why the competitor hates domestic abusers.

“I grew up watching my mom and step dad fight watching about every single damn day — fist fighting — for the stupid stuff. I don’t tolerate stuff like that at all,” says Lewis.

The fight could actually happen if Hardy first gets a win on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders Series and then gets a contract offer from the UFC. The fight at DWTNCS will mark the professional MMA debut for Hardy, who has previously competed in amateur MMA bouts.
