A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to the upcoming Bellator 202 card as Emily Ducote is being matched up against Veta Arteaga.
Ducote (6-4-0) enters the contest riding a two fight losing streak, having dropped bouts to the duo of Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Kristina Williams. Ducote has previously fought for the Bellator MMA Women’s Flyweight Title, losing to champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane at Bellator 186. Ducote has held gold before in her professional MMA career, as the fighter previously won the Xtreme Fight Night Women’s Flyweight Championship and the Oklahoma City Fight Night Women’s Flyweight Title.
Arteaga (3-2-0) has won just one of her last three bouts under the Bellator MMA banner, with that lone win coming over Brooke Mayo at Bellator 172. Arteaga has seen all five of her professional MMA fights make it into the third round and only one of those bouts ended via some form of finish. Arteaga has fought just once outside of Bellator MMA and that was a decision win over Ashley Dean at Front Street Fights 8.
Bellator 202 takes place on Friday, July 13 from the Winstar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma with Julia Budd and Talita Nogueira headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
