Guram Kutateladze Wants To Fight Islam Makhachev At UFC 254: “I’m Here And I’m Ready To Fight”

Guram Kutateladze made his UFC debut this past weekend at UFC Fight Island 6 and he is ready for a quick turnaround because the fighter wants to face Islam Makhachev this weekend at UFC 254.

A victorious Kutateladze told the media after the event that he is ready to fight Makhachev at UFC 254.

“I know that Islam Makhachev doesn’t have an opponent next weekend. I’m here and I’m ready to fight. Maybe I’m going to rest this evening, I’m going to rest tomorrow, and the day after that I’ll get to work again and start dropping weight again. I’m not stupid, but he wants probably top 15, top 10 guys and I’m like the new guy. But still, if something (happens), I’m here, and I’m ready,” says Kutateladze (via Matt Erickson & John Morgan of MMA Junkie).

Makhachev was scheduled to face Rafael Dos Anjos at the event, but RDA was forced to withdrawal from the fight after testing positive for COVID-19.

Kutateladze may be undefeated under the UFC banner, but the fighter wasn’t happy with his performance at UFC Fight Island 6.

“It feels good. It was God’s will that I would get a win. It’s my head coach’s birthday and that’s the happiest thing, that I can give him such a birthday present. But otherwise, I’m not happy with tonight’s performance,” says Kutateladze.
