One Championships officials have announced that One Championships 57 has been canceled due to logistical issues. The event was scheduled to take place in Surabaya, Indonesia with Kairat Akhmedov defending the flyweight title against Adriano Moraes in the main event.
This is bad news for the promotion, as they had recently announced a major equity investment from an outside company that could send their total capital to over $100 million.
Six other fights had been announced for the card, it is unknown at this time if all the fights will get rescheduled or if the fighters will simply get new opponents in the future.
The promotion had hosted a series of events in the country of Indonesia before, but this was their first trip to the city of Surabaya for an event.
With the event now canceled, the promotion won’t be in action again until One Championships 58 on Saturday, August 5. The main event of that show is going to be a bantamweight title fight as Bibiano Fernandes defends against Andrew Leone.
