A welterweight division attraction has been added to UFC 248 as Alex Oliveira is in action against Max Griffin.
MMA Junkie first announced the bout, but its placement on the card isn’t known at this point in time.
Oliveira (19-8-1-2NC) enters the contest while in the midst of a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to the trio of Gunnar Nelson, Mike Perry and Nicolas Dalby. Oliveira hasn’t picked up a victory in over a year, with that last win coming over Carlo Pedersoli Jr. at UFC Fight Night Belem. Oliveira is winless when competing at UFC pay-per-view events, going 0-2-0-1NC in previous bouts on such cards.
Griffin (15-7-0) has won just one of his last four under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Zelim Imadaev at UFC 236. Griffin has seen his last six fights go the distance and it has been over three years since the fighter got a finish. Griffin has suffered seven losses as a professional MMA fighter and six of them have come by way of submission.
UFC 248 takes place on Saturday, March 7 from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
