Report: Arnold Berdon Pleads Not Guilty To Assault Charges

UFC fighter Rachael Ostovich was recently the victim of an attack that left her with a broken orbital bone and other injuries.

Arnold Berdon is Ostovich’s husband and was arrested for the attack, but the professional MMA fighter has pleaded not guilty to the charges levied against him according to MMA Fighting. Berdon was arrested last week on a charge of attempted murder, but that charge was reclassified to second degree assault for unspecified reasons.

The injuries allegedly caused by Berdon also forced Ostovich to withdraw from UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, where she was expected to fight Paige VanZant.

Ostovich also has a temporary restraining order filed against Berdon, meaning Berdon has to stay at least 100 feet away from Ostovich and their daughter until May 18 of next year. Ostovich also stated to authorities that Berdon had attacked her in May of this year, bruising the fighters legs.

Berdon is due back in court on December 18, which will serve as a preliminary hearing to see if the case will go to trial.

A report from TMZ is stating that Berdon’s family plans on vigorously defending him, as Berdon claims that what happened was merely self defense against an attacking Ostovich.
