Report: BJ Penn Faces Clay Guida At UFC 237

A lightweight division attraction has been added to UFC 237 according to MMA Fighting as BJ Penn is going to be in action against Clay Guida.

Penn (16-13-2) is entering the fight while in the midst of a six fight winning streak and he hasn’t earned a victory in over eight years. Penn is a former UFC Lightweight Champion and a UFC Welterweight Champion, defeating Matt Hughes and Joe Stevenson to start those reigns. Penn has suffered thirteen losses as a professional MMA fighter and more than half of them have come by way of decision.

Guida (34-18-0) has won two of his last three under the UFC banner, with those two wins coming over the duo of Erik Koch and Joe Lauzon. Guida has competed as both a lightweight and a featherweight in the UFC, earning an overall record of 14-12-0 in the promotion. Guida will also be returning to action for the first time in almost a year, with his last bout taking place in June of 2018.

UFC 237 takes place on Saturday, May 11 from the Arena Da Baixada in Curitiba, Brazil with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, with a post-show podcast to follow.
