Report: Cameron Else Steps In, Faces Kyler Phillips At UFC Fight Island 4

Kyler Phillips needed a new opponent for UFC Fight Island 4 after the withdrawal of Danaa Batgerel and now he has one, as Cameron Else has accepted the short-notice opportunity.

Phillips (7-1-0) is undefeated thus far in UFC competition having defeated Gabriel Silva by unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night Norfolk. Phillips competed on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 27, losing in the opening round of the reality show to Brad Katona. Phillips also competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Episode 4, defeating James Gray Jr. by first round TKO.

Else (7-4-0) is going to be making his UFC debut in this bout and does so on the strength of a three fight winning streak. Else hasn’t been defeated in over three years, with that last loss coming to Damo Weeden at Cage Warriors 85 in June of 2017. Else also competed once in Bellator, defeating Dylan Tuke by first round TKO at Bellator 169 in December of 2016.

UFC Fight Island 4 is set for Saturday, October 3 from Fight Island in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with Holly Holm and Irene Aldana headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
