A middleweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 217 according to MMA Fighting as Charlie Ward is going to be in action against Jamie Stephenson.
Ward (5-3-0) is currently undefeated in Bellator MMA competition, having defeated the duo of John Redmond and Martin Hudson. Ward did go winless during a brief stint in the UFC, dropping bouts to the duo of Galore Bofando and Abdul Razak Alhassan. Ward has suffered three losses as a professional MMA fighter and all three of those defeats have come by way of KO/TKO.
Stephenson (4-2-0) is going to be making his Bellator MMA debut in this encounter and will also be returning to action for the first time in well over a year. Stephenson has competed six times as a professional MMA fighter and none of those six bouts went to the judges scorecards. Stephenson also competed three times as an amateur MMA fighter, suffering a defeat to Bellator MMA veteran Kiefer Crosbie.
Bellator 217 takes place on Saturday, February 23 from the 3 Arena in Dublin, Ireland with James Gallagher and Steven Graham headlining. Fightful is going to be providing live coverage of the event, which will air live on the Paramount Network.
