A women’s strawweight division encounter has been added to a yet to be announced UFC card on September 26 as #6 Claudia Gadelha faces #10 Yan Xiaonan.
Raphael Marinho of Combate first reported the fight, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Gadelha (18-4-0) enters the contest riding a two fight winning streak, defeating the duo of Angela Hill and Randa Markos. Gadelha hasn’t suffered a defeat in well over a year, with that last loss coming to Nina Ansaroff at UFC 231. Gadelha has previously challenged for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title, losing to then champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale.
Xiaonan (12-1-0-1NC) is undefeated thus far under the UFC banner, picking up wins over Kailin Curran, Viviane Pereira, Syuri Kondo, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and the aforementioned Hill. Xiaonan has competed five times thus far in the UFC and all of those encounters went to the judges scorecards. Xiaonan has picked up twelve wins as a professional MMA fighter and seven of them came by way of decision.
The yet to be announced UFC card is set for Saturday, September 26 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
