Leandro Higo needed a new opponent to face at Bellator 241 after the withdrawal of Johnny Campbell and Dominic Mazzotta has agreed to step in on short notice to face Higo at the event.
MMA Fighting first reported the news and the bout will still be a part of the preliminary card.
Higo (19-5-0) has won two of five under the Bellator MMA banner and he is a former LFA Bantamweight Champion. Higo has picked up the aforementioned two wins in Bellator MMA, with those victories coming over Shawn Bunch and Joe Taimanglo. Higo was set to challenge for the Bellator MMA Bantamweight Title at Bellator 177, but the fighter missed weight for the bout.
Mazzotta (14-3-0) has won two of four in Bellator MMA competition, with those wins coming over Matthew Lozano and Josh Sampo. Mazzotta is back in action for the first time in a year, as his last bout took place at Bellator 219 in March of last year. Mazzotta has picked up fourteen wins as a professional MMA fighter and nine of them came by way of submission.
Bellator 241 takes place on Friday, March 13 from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut with Patricio Pitbull and Pedro Carvalho headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
