It did not take long for former UFC fighter John Lineker to find a new fighting home because the recently released Lineker has signed a multi-fight contract with One Championship.
MMA Fighting first reported the news, but the length of the contract and any financial numbers associated with the deal weren’t revealed at this time.
The fighter was released the by the UFC last week, with UFC President Dana White stating that matchmakers and other UFC brass didn’t like that Lineker missed weight for multiple fights, while also pulling out of several bouts.
Lineker (31-9-0) went 12-4-0 under the UFC banner, with notable victories coming over Ian McCall, Francisco Rivera, Rob Font, Michael McDonald, John Dodson, Marlon Vera and Brian Kelleher. Lineker’s last bout in the UFC came at UFC Fight Night Fort Lauderdale, where he suffered a split decision loss to Cory Sandhagen. Lineker has competed a total of forty times as a professional MMA fighter and eighteen of those bouts went the distance.
There is no word at this time as to when Lineker is expected to make his One Championship debut or whom that bout is going to be coming against.
