The Bellator MMA Women’s Featherweight Title is on the line at a yet to be announced Bellator event on July 12 as Julia Budd puts the gold on the line against Olga Rubin.
It was Budd who announced the news via Instagram:
Budd (12-2-0) is going to be making the third defense of her championship, having previously defended it against Arlene Blencowe and Talita Nogueira. Budd won the gold back at Bellator 174 in March of 2017, defeating Marloes Coenen by way of fourth round TKO. Budd has suffered just two losses as a professional MMA fighter, with those losses coming to UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Amanda Nunes and former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey.
Rubin (6-0-0) has already picked up three victories under the Bellator MMA banner, defeating the trio of Joana Filipa Magalhaes, Cindy Dandois and Iony Razafiarison. Rubin has picked up six wins as a professional MMA fighter, with three coming by KO/TKO and three coming by way of decision. Rubin is also going to be challenging for a championship for the first time in her professional MMA career, which began in November of 2016.
The yet to be announced Bellator MMA card takes place on Friday, July 12 from the Winstar World Casino & Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma with Julia Budd and Olga Rubin headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on the Paramount Network.
