Report: Julian Erosa Replaces Kyle Nelson At UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker

Kyle Nelson has been pulled from UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Nelson, replacing him against Sean Woodson is Julian Erosa.

Cole Shelton of BJPenn.com first reporting the news, citing visa issues for Nelson’s withdrawal.

Woodson (7-0-0) has already picked up one win under the UFC banner, with that victory coming over Kyle Bochniak at UFC Fight Night Boston. Woodson competed on Dana White’s Contender Series Season 3, Episode 5, defeating Terrance McKinney by second round knockout. Woodson is still undefeated as a professional MMA fighter and that streak has lasted nearly four years.

Erosa (22-8-0) enters the contest riding a three fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Devonte Smith, Grant Dawson and Julio Arce. Erosa hasn’t picked up a win in almost two years, with that last victory coming over Jamall Emmers at Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series Episode 11. Erosa is currently in his second run with the UFC, earning an overall record of 1-4-0 in the promotion.

UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs. Hooker takes place on Saturday, June 27 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which airs live on ESPN.
