A women’s flyweight division attraction has been added to Bellator 236 as Juliana Velasquez is going to be in action against Bruna Ellen.
KITV first reported the bout, but its placement on the card is unknown at this time.
Velasquez (9-0-0) has already picked up four wins under the Bellator MMA banner, with those wins coming over Na Liang, Rebecca Ruth, Alejandra Lara and Kristina Williams. Velasquez is a former 1 Round Combate Women’s Flyweight Champion, defeating Rosy Duarte by fifth round TKO in December of 2015 to win the gold. Velasquez has competed nine times as a professional MMA fighter and four of those bouts went the distance.
Ellen (5-2-0) has won three of five in Bellator MMA competition, having defeated the trio of Carmela James, Veta Arteaga and Elina Kallionidou. Ellen has competed seven times as a professional MMA fighter and six of those bouts went the distance. Ellen has picked up one win in her career by a form of finish, which was a first round TKO win over Pamela Mara Assis at Max Fight 16 in August of 2015.
Bellator 236 takes place on Saturday, December 21 from the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii with Ilima-Lei Macfarlane and Kate Jackson headlining. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, which streams live on DAZN.
