A women’s strawweight division attraction has been added to a recently announced UFC card on August 22 as #8 Michelle Waterson faces #13 Angela Hill.
Bloody Elbow first reported the fight, who’s spot on the card isn’t known at this time.
Waterson (17-8-0) comes into the contest riding a two fight losing streak, dropping bouts to Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Carla Esparza. Waterson has seen her last six fights go the distance and it has been over three years since the fighter got a finish. Waterson is a former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, defeating Jessica Penne at Invicta FC 5 to claim the gold.
Hill (12-8-0) has won three of her last four in the UFC, with those wins coming over Ariane Carnelossi, Hannah Cifers and Loma Lookboonmee. Hill is competing for the fourth time in 2020, tying it with 2019 as her most active year as a professional MMA fighter. Hill is a former Invicta FC Strawweight Champion, defeating Livinha Souza by split decision at Invicta FC 17 to win the gold.
The recently announced UFC card is set for Saturday, August 22 from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada with no main event announced at this time. Fightful is providing live coverage of the event, while broadcast plans have yet to be revealed.
